As an absolute precaution, even though no harmful effects have been scientifically proven. Sensitive period to avoid. Hormonal changes may alter skin response to LED treatments.
OPEN WOUNDS OR INFECTIONS
Why this contraindication?
Active infections, acute inflammations, or unhealed wounds in the treatment area. LED light may worsen inflammation and delay healing of compromised tissues.
PHOTOSENSITIZING MEDICATIONS
Why this contraindication?
Treatments that make skin sensitive to light. Risk of amplified skin reaction. Antibiotics, retinoids, and some antidepressants may cause burns under LED.
RECENT SURGERY
Why this contraindication?
Recent surgical procedure on the area to be treated. Wait for complete healing. Healing tissues are fragile and may react poorly to light stimulation.
PACEMAKER/ELECTRONIC IMPLANTS
Why this contraindication?
Theoretical risk of electromagnetic interference with active medical devices. Although rare, caution is recommended to avoid any malfunction of implanted devices.
